The ISIS XL single board computer (SBC) provides Intel’s new low-power 45nm Atom LPIA architecture in a modular PC/104+ form factor module specifically designed for extended temperature and harsh environment operation. Fitted with Intel’s highest speed industrial temp package Atom processor (Z520PT) and Intel® System Controller Hub US15WPT for maximum reliability from -40 to +85C operation, the rugged ISIS XL processor board delivers the benefits of Intel’s x86 architecture in a robust, ultra-compact fanless design with exceptional performance-per-watt. The card also features an Atmel Trusted Platform Module (TPM) device compliant with TCG v1.2 to enable customers to deploy trusted computing solutions compliant with hardware security initiatives currently mandated by the US Government. A full range of onboard peripherals are provided including 8x USB 2.0 ports, VGA, LVDS, HD-Audio, 2x RS232/422/485, Ethernet, GPIO and IDE, as well as a 20-channel GPS receiver. Expansion requirements are well covered by a combination of PC/104 (ISA), PC/104+ (PCI) and PCIExpress Mini Card buses, so interfacing to real-world I/O or the latest wireless technology is easy. Parvus/Eurotech's rugged CPU cards have been widely deployed in demanding mobile military and commercial applications that involve high shock/vibration and temperature extremes. A structural heat spreader plate is integrated on top of each CPU module to dissipate heat from critical components over a large surface area to the enclosure wall. System DRAM and system Flash on the ISIS XL are soldered onboard to enhance shock/vibration resistance. Further solid state Flash expansion is available via an SDIO socket. Requiring less than 5W of power and running at 1.33GHz clockspeed, the ISIS XL has all the functionality and connectivity previously associated with much larger and more power-hungry systems. The unit support Intel hyper-threading technology and is compatible with all major desktop operating systems. It is available with pre-installed, ready to run, embedded operating systems including Windows XP, XP Embedded, CE 6.0 and Linux in development kits.
