PRODUCT INFORMATION
Shown here is an advanced communications solution for passenger railway applications known as Parvus RiderNet Rail. Designed with train transit properties and service providers in mind, this robust system offers a flexible architecture which can be easily adapted for each unique installation. RiderNet Rail is built on a Cisco Systems' Mobile-IP router platform for true enterprise class capabilities and industry-leading security.
Serving as a wireless connection manager for railway applications, the unit is designed to support multiple concurrent services, including passenger Internet access, infotainment, advertising and connectivity to operational functions, such as CCTV, GPS tracking, diagnostics / vehicle health, and fare collection / ticketing. Key features include mobile router, high-speed EvDO cellular modem, 802.11 access point, 12-channel GPS receiver and hot spot server capabilities. Mesh networking, GSM/GPRS wireless, and one/two-way satellite connectivity can optionally be supported.
This product builds upon Parvus' expertise with Cisco mobile routing technology (See
