Vehicular Infotainment System w/ Display

PRODUCT INFORMATION
Shown here is a custom in-cabin communication, navigation and entertainment system, equipped with a 10.4" LCD display and an embedded Single Board Computer in a ruggedized aluminum chassis.

The system integrates a GPS receiver, CDMA cellular modem, credit card swipe, and all the typical controllers and functionality of a desktop PC (USB, Serial, Video, Ethernet, Keyboard, Mouse, etc.). Its Pentium III class EBX form factor computer board is housed in one of Parvus' EBX/SBC extruded aluminum enclosures, while the display is placed in a low-cost molded plastic case also designed by Parvus. A PC/104 IDE adapter card is used to mount a 2.5" notebook hard drive inside.

Such a system could enable passengers of larger vehicles to surf the Internet, send e-mail, watch movies, shop online, view maps and directions, among other things.
