RiderNet APC
Automatic Passenger Counter for Bus/Rail
PRODUCT INFORMATION
RiderNet® APC is the world's first automatic passenger counter sensor device to use vision technology for passenger counting. The sensor uses

two embedded cameras (stereoscopic) to "watch" passengers as they embark/disembark from public transit vehicles. This innovative approach enables systems integrators to deliver highly accurate automatic passenger counting systems (APC) to their public transit customers for use in National Transit Database reporting.
Each sensor can operate as a stand-alone device with integrated count storage, or devices can be networked together in various configurations and connected to on-board computers for real-time counting applications. Device configuration is simple, and can be done easily in the field by installers or technicians.
Because of the unique vision technology used, the RiderNet APC implementation is much less cumbersome than legacy infrared or pressure sensor systems. The RiderNet APC doesn’t need to install directly above the door thus avoiding any interference with mechanical door systems. Additionally, only one device is required near each standard size door (<48 in.), further simplifying the installation. For ease of integration, all application software and protocol data is standard and openly available for easy integration into existing systems.
